Jordis Unga: In The Music News
The dreadlocked former bartender from St. Paul has spent the past few months holed up in Los Angeles, working on songs for what will be her debut album, due out this spring on Epic Records.
Unga landed the deal thanks to her electric performances on “Rock Star: INXS.” While the show wasn’t a huge ratings hit — and it has yet to be seen whether INXS will find success with its new lead singer, J.D. Fortune — Unga has found herself in an enviable position. Not only did she leave the competition with her own solo record deal but she also remains one of the show’s most likable and talented performers.
So far, Unga has spent her time collaborating with a bunch of different writers, including Evanescence’s David Hodges and the duo Anne Previn and Scott Cutler of Ednaswap. She’ll likely tour once the album’s finished.
